The first stage of the three stage, six step analytical process is framing the problem. It is the most critical part of a good decision process. Framing the problem has two steps: problem recognition and review of previous findings. The most important thing in the problem recognition stage is to fully understand what the problem is and why it matters. The individuals involved at this stage are primarily managers and decision makers – the ‘owners’ of the business or organizational problem.
2. Carlos Morris – Share a related challenge or insight you have encountered, or are encountering in the workplace (please be discreet). Explain how you might frame this problem with business analytics in mind.
