The responsibility of raising a child from birth is one of the great challenges of life. For this project, students will take the role of the “guardian angel” for a couple who have just had their first child and need to know what to do to raise the child for the first several years of his/her life. The couple is Kenny and Teresa, who are both in their mid-twenties and just had a baby. This project will be a series of letters where the “parents” ask the “guardian angel” questions about child development and then the “guardian angel” responds back with research-informed advising. The assignment will involve the parents and guardian angel exchanging letters back and forth with one another throughout the baby’s early childhood years.
