COMMENTS BY PROFFESOR – The purpose of this section is to highlight other places in the US — in SB, in Canada, and even locally in New Haven that can serve as a model for how ESMS, if re-opened, should run. Therefore ESMS wouldn’t be the model itself — but rather, the models in other cities/locations in this section should illustrate to the reader which best practices should be implemented.
Pointing to the scientific literature is an important piece of this section; however, we should try to make this section more concrete with very specific models and practices discussed.
- The point here is to bring forward the important points very concretely– as to what can be done:
room cleanliness, privacy, pairing of roommates, doors that open on certain hinges, reasonable hours/curfew etc
