write a satirical proposal to address a problem that you believe needs to be solved

Creating Satire with a ‘Modest’ Proposal Keeping in line with Jonathan Swift’s “A Modest Proposal,” you will write a satirical proposal to address a problem that you believe needs to be solved. Problems may include a school policy you would like to see changed, a political policy you do not agree with, or a daily habit you hope people would adopt or reject. After creating a written version of the proposal, you will prepare a 2-3 minute dynamic presentation of your proposal.

Your proposal should:

  1. Introduce the problem you believe needs to be addressed.
  2. Present your proposed solution.
  3. Enumerate all the reasons your proposal makes sense.
  4. Include any additional benefits your proposal might bring.
  5. Acknowledge objections.
  6. How can you counter them?
  7. Cite false yet convincing evidence, quotes or statistics confidently. (everything paragraph form)
  8. Close with either ″reasonable″ solutions that could “obviously not” be taken, a call to action or next steps.
