Consider the case of Aaron, who excitedly informs you that his favorite activity is watching Kansas City Royals baseball games and writing about them on his philosophy and sport blog. He is deeply passionate about this project, and spends as much time as possible watching all 162 games each season, analyzing the games, and writing about them. After every game, he writes an in-depth analysis focusing on philosophical issues that arise during the game, which he then posts on his blog. Once the season has finished, Aaron watches all 162 games a second time, reviewing his philosophical analyses, and revising them accordingly, until the next season begins, when he starts the process anew.
Your essay will examine how Richard Taylor and Susan Wolf would evaluate Aaron’s life, with a focus on whether they would find it meaningful or not. (1a) Given his philosophical position, would Richard Taylor believe Aaron is living a meaningful life? (1b) Given her philosophical position, would Susan Wolf believe Aaron is living a meaningful life? Compare and contrast what Taylor and Wolf would say about Aaron.
