Verta Taylor and Nella Van Dyke Get up stand up Tactical repertoires of social movements critical reflection

Read: Verta Taylor and Nella Van Dyke. “‘Get up, stand up’: Tactical repertoires of social movements.” pages 262-293. These papers should be a critical reflection – a summary of the readings, including a critical analysis of the meanings of those readings, which may include how these articles can be read with other articles. This should show both mastery of the article as well as original thought. In addition, you must integrate ALL the readings from the day. This is not JUST a summary of the readings. Instead, it is a summary argument about the meaning OF those readings.

Notes from Last Response Paper:

Format: 10

Background: 10 Overall, a good job linking it to the larger class. Think about also how you can link it to specific elements we’ve discussed and read about. For instance, how is PO linked to Resource Mobilization theory?

SUMMARY AND POV: I see great improvements here. I would still say, though, that you want to change the ratio and make the majority of your response summary. Particularly given the length and depth of these articles, you want to spend most of the time getting to ALL the main arguments of the articles.
