Use the resources attached to create your own restaurant concept and menu. Follow the instructions presented in the Mini-Project #1

This should be presented in a video tutorial or a power point presentation, use pictures as needed and list your resources of where you found your creativity, ideas, and foundation. Activity #1 should be at least 250 words. Activity #2 should represent all 5 steps of the menu planning process (if a step is not active than touch on what you plan on doing about the topic), and this should be at least 5 – 8 slides. Activity #3 can be a picture of each page of the menu or can be a word document inside of the power point presentation. You may use existing restaurants as examples, but this should be your own concept. The menu needs to be a complete regular menu (breakfast, lunch, or dinner); not a specialty menu.

For questions and clarification, please ask on the DB “Ask my instructor” or on General page i9bmn TEAMS in case others may have the same question.

UPDATE: THIS IS FURTHER CLARIFICATION AS ASKED ON THE AYI DB THREAD.

Mini Project #1 is made up of 3 activities:

  1. Tell me about your concept of your restaurant (250 words). What is the name? Is there a meaning to the name? What type of restaurant will you be & what type of food will you serve? What is your target market? and what is your 5 year goal you see for this restaurant.
  2.  Describe your menu process (follow along with your text on menu design & review the 2 different power points I have provided). Your menu design and layout should not be random! Discuss your placement, prices, the main top sellers (Stars – high profitability & very popular)), the Plow Horses (Very popular, but not very profitable), the dogs (not very popular or profitable), and your puzzles (high in profitability but not real popular). Discuss your plan on handling food allergies, diet restrictions, etc. How will you denote this on the menu? Will you have a separate menu available or merge all together?
  3.  This will be the complete menu (can be power point or word) but it must look like a menu with art, placement, menu items/prices/descriptions, and restaurant name/number/story.
