As Production Manager for Kibby and Strand, a scheduling methodology evaluation matrix needs to be formulated for incoming contracts.  To do this, I must understand what is needed and when it is needed, i.e., 100 chiffon dresses need to be shipped in 2 weeks, etc.  I must know what the pending contracts call for, how much, when they need to be shipped and delivered and what the company’s capacity is to meet these
objectives. 
It is crucial to make sure that the company’s production facilities are utilized both effectively and efficiently.  The decision of whether the priority is speed or timing is essential to deciding what is ideal for the production facility.  There are three types of operations schedules: 
First Come First Serve or maybe known as First in First Out (FIFO) – it is most effective when there is a single item begin produced but less effective when there are various products.
