Make a posting of how you would explain to a friend what a binomial distribution is. Your friend does not know any statistics.
You will have to make it very simple for him:

Binomial distributions must meet the following three criteria:
1. The experiment consists on a fixed number of trials;
2. Each trial is independent of the others.
3. There are only two outcomes
4. The probability of each outcome remains constant from trial to trial.
Each trial results in an outcome may be classified as a success or a failure. p= success, q=1-p = failure.
Examples of binomial experiments:
Tossing a coin 35 times to see how many tails occur: p =1/2, q = 1- p = 1/2
A surgery has a success rate of 78% Missouri is performed on five patients: p = 0.78, q = 0.22.
Now let’s do an example:
Toss a fair coin three times, what is the probability of getting two Heads?
My outcomes are HHH, HHT, HTH, HTT, THH, THT, TTH, TTT = 8 outcomes and two head could be HHT, HTH, or THH.
So the probability of getting two heads is 3/8.
We can use a random variable, X, the number of head from 3 tosses of a coin:
P(x=0)=1/8 that is TTT
P(X=1)=3/8 that is TTH THT HTT
P(X=2)=3/8 that is HHT, HTH, or THH.
P(X=3)=1/8, that is HHH
