The water cycle is a continuous flow of water through the three phases (solid, liquid, gas) and is fueled by the energy of the sun. An increase in greenhouses gases such as methane and carbon dioxide can cause a disturbance in this cycle. For example, the warmer average temperature of the Earth’s surface can cause the ice in the polar caps to melt thus causing more liquid in the oceans.
Bottled water is often misunderstood. Private companies extract groundwater or use municipal public water to fill bottles and sell. This can be problematic especially in California where we currently suffer from a four-year drought and many people are constantly being told to conserve water.
