This assignment type is an online discussion on three topics (550 words each – we can only go over 10% of the word limit):
1. Describe and assess Plato’s Theory of Forms.
2. Socrates’ charge of impiety was related to his elentic method of questioning. Discuss. Outline reasons why you affirm or deny the effectiveness of this method.
3. Explain how we acquire moral virtue according to Aristotle?
This task involves engaging in online discussion/debate in order to acquire a better understanding of the topics studied by interacting with fellow students and your tutor. Peer learning (where students learn from each other and/or aid each other in their learning) is an extremely important element of higher education, just as joining and participating in professional networks or communities is an important element of working within the field of philosophy.
This task has two strands:
a. You will demonstrate your learning of the course material by posting in the discussion forum for each topic
b. You will contribute to the debate (i.e. dialogue and response with and to your peers on their postings on each topic in the relevant forum). This part of the task develops analytic skills and demonstrates your ability to engage in debate and dialogue.
Please include endnotes and bibliography using the MHRA system.
Unfortunately, when processing an order, there was no option for this type of referencing style. It is very important to use the MHRA system – the lecturer was very specific about it.
