Case Analysis
Pick a case from the list below. Read it, and then prepare part 1 of the analysis which is to identify the issues. Part 2 is to provide some solutions. This used to be done in two submissions. This fall term, there will only one submission. Note: I have a website below that contains several websites with free business cases. If you like you may want to look at this list. I do ask that you get my approval before you start.
Using cases to further a student’s understanding has long been used at Harvard and other very established MBA programs. Application really cements one’s knowledge. You may work in groups of two, but do not feel obligated. My hope is that by collaborating with someone, you will get different perspectives and solutions that otherwise would not exist.
Typically, part of the benefit of doing cases, is the presentation of the material to other and the questioning by the rest of the class. Given the nature of the class, and its accelerated pace, it is difficult to have presentations.
I am hoping to get feedback on this part of the course, specifically
- Is the case analysis beneficial to the course?
- If so, how could this be better organized?
- Could you envision presentations via zoom?
