Campbell and Bailyn’s Boston Office Case Analysis

Campbell and Bailyn’s Boston Office Case Analysis-MGMT416. Understanding how competitive environment changes affect organizations is key to recommending interventions and evaluating the results of interventions that have been implemented. The mini-case analyses we have done in class are a start in helping you understand the systemic issues associated with certain problems/opportunities in organizations and the impact on individuals and teams. For this case analysis, I want you to synthesize the facts from the case to show you understand the issue(s) being addressed. These are the main questions you need to consider in your analysis:
How are the trends in investment banking affecting Campbell and Bailyn?
How are the changes within the customer service preferences putting pressure on the organization?
Did the changes taking place in the bond industry and within client companies justify the decision to implement the KAT? From whose perspective?
What is your assessment of the Key Account Team?
Is the creation of the KAT and the new performance management system working? From whose perspective?
Before New York extends the KAT concept to other regional offices, what should be Ken’s next steps? Demonstrate that have you analyzed all of the information and have reached a reasonable conclusion(s) about what to do next. Do not structure your paper according to the questions above and do not just regurgitate facts from the case. You need to structure this paper to concisely inform Ken of what he should do next.
In terms of grading these case briefings, and all other class written deliverables, I consider three different aspects of strong business writing:
-The strength of your analysis and your ability to draw out the implications of the situation
-The ability to substantiate your positions with facts from the case
-The clarity of your writing and your ability to use the strong business writing conventions presented in BA352 and other classes in the College. This includes active voices, high skim value (using bullets and headers), parallel structure, and strong transitions.
Length is limited to 2 pages, single spaced. The case analysis must be handed in at the beginning of the class in order for it to be graded. Late briefings will not be graded.
