The student will become familiar with the process required for addressing community needs. During the Windshield Survey, Community Subsystem Review, Appraisal of Subsystem, and or Community Assessment Group Assignment, the following essential competences are being addressed: Writing, Reading, Oral communication; IPR/Professionalism; Critical thinking; Interdisciplinary nursing interventions: Nursing Process; Political Process; Epidemiologic Process, Research process, and the Management process.
The student will complete Subsystem Review as determined by course faculty (see Criteria for Subsystem Review Assignment – Safety and Transportation after General Guidelines below).

General Guidelines:

a. Adherence to Criteria for Subsystem Review Assignment – Safety and Transportation
o Review of specified resources
o Completion of Table included in Assignment
o Formal Paper in APA format
b. Completion of formal written paper to encompass assignment / rubric criteria for Assigned Subsystem.
o Maximum length of paper—4 pages, not including title page and references.
o APA format, typed, minimum 12 point font.
o No personal pronouns
o Paper should be free of grammatical errors and clearly written according to prerequisite English courses.
c. Assignment submission must include:
o Completed Table located included in Assignment
o Formal Paper per guidelines above.
o Five points will be deducted for every day an assignment is late, including the day the paper is due and weekend days. Deductions for “late”
work begin from the date and time posted on the course calendar. The date on any electronically transferred papers will be considered the turn
in date. All hard copy attachments received for the assignment(s) must be turned in to the faculty within 24 hours of the electronic transfer.
