“Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore”, is a simple and yet somehow complicated film about a young woman coming to terms with her new independence. Released in the early 1970s, the film was one of the first to feature a female lead trying to navigate her place in a changing society, as women were beginning to fight for equality.
- What is the role of women in North American society today? Is there a difference between how women view themselves and how society sees them? Have things changed that much for women since the film was originally released in 1974?
